HOW IS OUR AGENCY RESPONDING TO COVID-19?
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are conducting sessions online. At-home sessions will be held on a case by case basis. Please wear masks if and when we meet. Once in session, we will be 8 feet apart and thus able to speak without masks, if you prefer. As long as we stay safe, I am comfortable with what makes you comfortable.
HOW DOES THERAPY WORK?
Therapy is a form of caring for yourself. Once you have decided enough is enough, therapy can be a place for you to explore where you are and want to go. Think about it like a space you dedicate to yourself once a week, to reconnect with your past and future in the present moment. Therapy can be an amazing tool to achieving happiness, purpose, and more supportive relationships.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Sessions are 50 minutes long, usually held once a week, and can last from 3 to 6 months. However, some individuals feel better after just a few sessions or prefer therapy every other week. Depending on where you are in the process of feeling better, I will give you my professional recommendations.
WHAT APPROACH DO I USE?
I use a strength-based approach combined with evidenced-based treatment, like Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Emotion-focused therapy.
WHAT DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?
I see individuals as young as the age of two and older. I specialize in assisting people with life transitions, mild to severe depression, anxiety, identity issues, childhood oppositional behavior, relationship issues, codependency, self-silencing behavior, childhood selective mutism, identity confusion, parenting, and emotional abuse.
DOES GOING TO THERAPY MEAN "YOUR CRAZY"?
Therapy is designed for all humans not matter the age or situation. Therapy isn't about looking at "the problem" like it defines you. You are much more than your sadness, anger, or fear. Therapy is about support, self-expression, and growth.
